Srinagar, May 10 — Tensions escalated along the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday as Pakistani troops once again violated the ceasefire, targeting multiple locations in north Kashmir, according to officials.
Pakistani forces opened fire on Charunda and Hatlanga areas in the Uri sector of Baramulla district. Simultaneously, Bagtore in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district also came under heavy shelling.
Officials confirmed that intense firing was ongoing in these regions but added that no casualties or injuries had been reported so far. "Heavy shelling is continuing at the moment, and further details are awaited," said an official familiar with the situation.
This development comes just a day after a woman lost her life and two of her family members were injured in cross-border shelling in Baramulla and Kupwara districts on Friday.
The repeated ceasefire violations have sparked concern among local residents, who have been forced to stay indoors amidst rising hostilities. Authorities remain on high alert, monitoring the situation closely across the affected border areas.
