President Droupadi Murmu extended greetings to the people, especially the Jain brothers and sisters, on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. In her message, President Murmu stated that the five principles of Bhagwan Mahavir – Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (self-control), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness) – inspire everyone to live a virtuous life. The President added that by adopting these principles, citizens can make their lives meaningful and bring positive change to society. President Murmu further noted that Bhagwan Mahavir spoke out against the evils prevalent in society and showed the way to a better life, and his teachings will always remain relevant. On this occasion, the President urged everyone to adopt Mahavir's teachings in their lives and continuously strive for the progress of the nation.
