March 19th, Aizawl: Organized jointly by the Mizoram Indigenous Games Association and Doordarshan Aizawl, the festival began yesterday with a grand inauguration by Minister of Art and Culture, C. Lalsawivunga.
Today's program featured a speech by MIGA General Headquarters President, R. Lalchhuansanga. The Lily Veng Cultural and Drama Troupe presented a traditional Mizo dance, followed by the continuation of various sporting competitions.
Participants are competing in a range of traditional Mizo sports, including Inbuan, Insuk Nawr, and Kalchhet. The festival also includes evening cultural programs with performances by leading Mizo singers.
The event is being broadcast live on DD Mizoram and is also available for live streaming on the DD Aizawl YouTube channel.
The annual festival continues to attract strong participation from athletes across Mizoram and remains a significant platform for promoting indigenous sports and culture. It will conclude tomorrow.
