POONCH, February 17: Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer, Ashok Kumar Sharma, chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 2027 Census, focusing on the establishment of district and tehsil Census Cells, infrastructure readiness, deployment of staff proficient in computers, and timely recruitment of technical assistants.
He directed a comprehensive public awareness campaign through media, social platforms, billboards, and wall paintings to ensure maximum reach. The meeting also discussed the nomination of Master Trainers, Supervisors, and Enumerators, and emphasized accuracy, coordination, and close monitoring for a smooth and successful census.
Officials from the administration, education, law enforcement, and social welfare departments participated in the review.
