Census Exercise Begins in Odisha – Citizens Asked to Participate.webp

Bhubaneswar, April 3 Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday urged citizens to cooperate with the upcoming Census exercise, with house listing set to begin from April 16.

In a video message, he appealed to people to participate in the process, including self-enumeration being carried out ahead of the door-to-door survey.

"I have completed my self-enumeration. You should also do so. If you have not yet provided your information, please do so and cooperate with the Census," Majhi said.

The chief minister said the exercise is being conducted in coordination with the Directorate of Census in Odisha, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the state’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

He said house listing and housing census work in all 30 districts will be carried out from April 16 to May 15, during which trained enumerators and supervisors will visit households to collect data.

Majhi added that the self-enumeration process is underway from April 1 to April 15 through an online portal.

He said people are providing data themselves through the self-enumeration portal https:e.census.gov.in.

"This information is crucial for planning and implementation of development programmes for the state and the country. People should extend full cooperation and provide accurate information," he said.
