Chennai, March 15 DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday criticised the ruling BJP government at the Centre, stating that its "wrong decisions" have led to a severe shortage of LPG across the country.
According to Stalin, the BJP government's lack of foresight or precautionary measures has caused trouble for the general public, particularly due to the shortage of commercial LPG cylinders.
"The Union BJP government, which has earned the reputation of a 'Failure Model' even in foreign policy, has caused a severe shortage of cylinders due to its wrong decisions," he wrote in a social media post.
He also stated that the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance staged protests across the State in response to the shortage of commercial LPG cylinders.
"Recognising the people's anger, the Union government must take steps to rectify the situation," he added.
On Sunday, the DMK-led SPA staged statewide protests, criticising the Centre over the shortage of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders across the country.
The SPA includes the Congress, Left parties, and the VCK.
The shortage of LPG cylinders emerged following the conflict in West Asia, which began intensifying from February 28.
