
Shimla, March 16 A key interstate drug dealer, primarily involved in trafficking chitta (adulterated heroin), has been arrested in Chandigarh, police said on Monday.
The accused, Sanjay alias Ganji, who is from Mauli Jagran Complex in Chandigarh, has been involved in supplying chitta in the state and in Shimla.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shimla, Gaurav Singh, said that Ganji's involvement was revealed after the district police arrested three individuals with 12.36 g of chitta from Rampur on March 12, 2026.
He said that during the investigation, police identified Ganji as the main supplier of chitta through backward linkages, and he was operating from Chandigarh.
A police team was sent to Chandigarh from where he was arrested, the officer said, adding that further investigation is underway.
