Janjgir (Chhattisgarh), April 1 An elderly couple was found murdered in a village in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Wednesday.
The bodies of Santaram Sahu (65) and his wife, Shyama Bai Sahu (60), were discovered in a pool of blood in the morning in a room of their house in the Khapri village, under the jurisdiction of the Mulmula police station, an official said.
He said the couple went to sleep as usual on Tuesday night.
Following the alert, a police team reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem, he said.
Preliminary investigation suggests that robbery was not the motive, as cash and gold ornaments kept in the house were found intact, he said.
