
In Chhattisgarh, two Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Bijapur district today. Three rifles and other weapons and ammunition have been recovered from the scene.
District Superintendent of Police, Dr. Jitendra Yadav, said that a joint team of security forces launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of Maoists in the Indravati river area of Bijapur. During the operation, the Maoists ambushed the security team and opened fire on the security personnel. In retaliation, the security forces were able to neutralize two Maoists. A search operation is currently underway in the area.
