Gwalior, March 13 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying the latter was not showing "seriousness", but was instead "embarrassing the country" at a time when it requires unity amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha had on Thursday criticised the BJP-led Centre, alleging that India's energy security has been "compromised" due to its "flawed" foreign policy and that it had "bartered" to the US the right to determine relationships with different oil suppliers, warning that the war between the US, Israel, and Iran will have far-reaching consequences.
Speaking to reporters here, Yadav said the country has been witnessing development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while Gandhi has failed to display the "seriousness" expected from an Opposition leader during a challenging period.
"Rahul Gandhi is not showing seriousness in the way he is functioning. This is wrong and should be condemned. It is a time of war (in West Asia), and the country demands unity," he said.
The chief minister reiterated that there was no shortage of LPG or petroleum products in the state.
He said the administration had been directed to ensure smooth supply and warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in black marketing of cylinders or fuel.
"From LPG to petrol and diesel, there is no shortage in the state. Instructions have been issued to the administration. Even then, if anyone indulges in black marketing, officials are empowered to take action," the BJP leader added.
