Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, today felicitated the top performers of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination 2026 from the Khasi and Jaintia Hills region. The event was also attended by Education Minister, Lakmen Rymbui, and Commissioner & Secretary, Education, Vijay Kumar Mantri, along with parents, teachers, and officials from the Education department.
Congratulating the top performers on their remarkable achievement, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma stated that a few years ago, the pass percentage in the SSCL examinations was very low, which deeply concerned him. "It was disheartening to see the low pass rate, but things are improving, and I am confident that we will be able to bring significant changes to the education landscape in the long run," he said. He also announced that a similar event to honor the top performers from the Garo Hills will be held on April 18, 2026, in Tura.
"The purpose of this event today is very simple: to tell you that we are proud of your achievements and your hard work and perseverance are appreciated and recognized," he urged the top performers to continue with their discipline, persistence, dedication, and diligence. "Remember to follow your passions and pursue your dreams, while remaining humble and grounded," he concluded.
