
BUDGAM, March 15: The Social Forestry Department in Budgam celebrated Chinar Day with plantation drives and awareness activities across the district to promote environmental conservation.
On this occasion, saplings of the iconic Chinar tree were planted at prominent locations, including SIDCO Budgam and the National Institute of Fashion Technology, to enhance green cover and encourage environmental sustainability.
The program was led by the Range Forest Officer of the Social Forestry Range in Budgam, who emphasized the ecological and cultural significance of the Chinar tree and urged people to actively participate in afforestation and environmental protection efforts.
Officials, employees of the Social Forestry Department, staff of NIFT Budgam, and other stakeholders participated in the plantation drive and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the environment.
