April 11, New Delhi — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi departed from Pyongyang on Friday after meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The two-day visit focused on strengthening ties between the two countries following the COVID-19 pandemic and shifting regional dynamics.

Kim Jong Un emphasized that stronger ties between the two countries are important for safeguarding shared interests.

During the visit, Wang Yi also met his North Korean counterpart, Choe Son Hui, with both sides discussing closer coordination on regional and international issues.
