March 02, Srinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted a surprise inspection of the office of the Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (R&B), Jammu, on Sunday, to review its operations and assess the progress of ongoing projects.
He examined both the physical and financial progress and called for the timely completion of work within specified deadlines. Emphasizing efficient and citizen-centric service delivery, he directed officials to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and ensure better coordination between the Chief Engineer's office and related departments.
Choudhary stated that delays, negligence, or compromising on quality would not be tolerated. "Quality work is our top priority, and transparency in execution is non-negotiable for this government," he said.
The deputy chief minister reiterated the government's commitment to balanced development across Jammu and Kashmir, with a particular focus on improving road connectivity and strengthening infrastructure in all districts.
Earlier, he met with public and individual delegations from various districts, including the Padder area, and listened to their concerns. He assured them of timely action to address genuine issues.
"The government is committed to responsive administration, accountability, and delivering tangible results on the ground," he said.
The Chief Engineer and other senior officers of the engineering wing were present during the inspection.
