Chouhan Criticizes Bengal's Implementation of Agricultural Schemes.webp

New Delhi, March 10 Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday criticised the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal, accusing it of failing to implement various Centre-sponsored agricultural schemes and alleging that farmers in the state were facing "injustice".

The BJP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) are engaged in a fierce political battle ahead of the state assembly elections.

Chouhan, the minister for agriculture and farmer welfare, told the Lok Sabha that the West Bengal government was "committing a sin" by not implementing the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and other schemes, and was "unconcerned" about the welfare of farmers in the state.

During the Question Hour, while responding to supplementary questions, Chouhan took a direct aim at the TMC, stating that the current dispensation in the state would change after the elections.

He also accused the state government of "mean politics". He pointed out that those shouting slogans here are not implementing agricultural schemes in West Bengal.

Chouhan said that there has been significant progress in the country's agricultural sector, and that separate IDs are being created for farmers.
