Churachandpur, March 24 Three children, including two siblings, drowned in a water-filled pit at a construction site near a security forces camp in Churachandpur district, Manipur, on Tuesday, officials said.
The children, aged 3 to 5 years, drowned in a pit about four feet deep, filled with rainwater, near a security forces training center in the Gangpimual village. The children were playing when they accidentally fell into the pit, a district official said.
The recently dug pit was filled with rainwater, the official said.
The children were rushed to Churachandpur District Hospital but were pronounced dead.
The children were residents of the Bezar Veng locality of Gangpimual village.
