March 19, New Delhi: In an effort to enhance the health and operational readiness of its personnel, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of AYUSH at CISF Headquarters in New Delhi. IG (Administration) Pratibha Agarwal signed on behalf of CISF, while Dr. A. Raghu, Advisor (Ayush), signed for the Ministry.
The MoU aims to integrate traditional healthcare systems – Yoga, Ayurveda, and other AYUSH practices – into the daily routines of CISF personnel and their families. Initiatives include regular yoga sessions, stress management interventions, immunity-boosting practices, Panchakarma therapies, awareness campaigns, and overall wellness programs.
The Ministry of AYUSH will provide technical expertise, standardized wellness modules, treatment protocols, and trained personnel. CISF units will offer infrastructure and administrative support. The plan also includes the phased introduction of AYUSH OPD services in CISF establishments, enabling preventive and promotive healthcare without disrupting duties.
DG CISF, Praveer Ranjan, said, "This MoU marks a historic beginning for the Force. Ayurveda provides a foundation for preventive healthcare. Integrating AYUSH with modern medicine ensures effective treatment and long-term wellness. A healthy force is a capable force."
Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, said, "Ayurveda's growth and effectiveness were notable during COVID-19. Our collaboration with CISF will create an accessible, holistic healthcare model promoting preventive care, stress management, and resilience for personnel."
