CISF Receives Drone Training from Assam Rifles.webp

Agartala, April 2 The Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive drone awareness and training session for personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), a release said on Thursday.

Experts from the Assam Rifles briefed participants on various types of drones, their capabilities, and potential security implications at the Assam Rifles ground here on Wednesday.

"With the increasing use of drones in both civilian and security domains, the training aimed to familiarize CISF personnel with the evolving challenges posed by unmanned aerial systems and equip them with the necessary skills to respond effectively," the release said.

"Special emphasis was placed on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed during drone encounters, including identification, threat assessment, and appropriate response measures," it said.

The session was followed by a practical training component, where CISF personnel were given hands-on exposure to drone operations.

"Participants witnessed live demonstrations of drone flying and were trained in basic handling and maneuvering techniques. The practical segment also enabled them to understand methods of identifying different drone models and their functionalities in real-time scenarios," it stated.

According to the release, officials highlighted that such joint training initiatives play a crucial role in enhancing inter-agency coordination and operational efficiency.

"The programme not only improved technical awareness among CISF personnel but also boosted their confidence in dealing with drone-related situations. Participants appreciated the initiative, describing it as timely and highly relevant in the current security landscape," it said.
