April 03, New Delhi — Nepal continues its evacuation efforts in the wake of the West Asia crisis, bringing hundreds of citizens back from Kuwait. Authorities are arranging special flights for repatriation.
A total of 318 Nepali citizens were repatriated from Kuwait on a Kuwait Airways flight, which landed at Bhairahawa International Airport in Lumbini Province. The operation also brought back the bodies of nine migrant workers who had been stranded due to the ongoing conflict.
With air travel disrupted in Kuwait, the Nepal government has been conducting chartered flights to bring its citizens home. Over 2,293 Nepalis have returned in March 2026 alone, while more than 63,000 have registered for evacuation from West Asia.
