Jaipur, March 13 The Jaipur police commissioner held discussions with representatives of city traders' associations on Friday to strengthen security arrangements in markets and enhance cooperation between the police and the public.
The meeting, which included Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal and representatives from the traders' association, focused on improving law and order, maintaining peace, and ensuring smooth traffic management in the city's commercial areas.
Mittal said that dialogue and cooperation between the police and citizens could further strengthen the law and order situation in the city.
"Such initiatives would help establish better coordination between the police and traders, and assist in preventing crime," he said.
Mittal also noted that traders in the city were actively cooperating to strengthen security arrangements. During February, traders had installed 48 CCTV cameras outside their establishments, and efforts were underway to further increase the number.
He suggested that these CCTV cameras could be linked to the Abhay Command Centre to ensure effective surveillance and keep a close watch on suspicious activities.
He instructed all deputy commissioners of police (DCPs), assistant commissioners of police (ACPs), and station house officers (SHOs) to encourage traders in their respective areas to install more CCTV cameras and facilitate their integration with the command centre.
The commissioner directed officials to form police-trader coordination committees at the district and circle levels to strengthen security in commercial areas.
"The committees would coordinate with traders to install CCTV cameras and connect them to the command centre, ensure smooth movement and parking in markets, address encroachment issues, strengthen security arrangements in weekly markets, and prevent incidents such as theft and burglary," he said.
