
Palghar, March 24 The Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation has issued notices to those found responsible for storing expired medicines at the civic hospital following an inspection, an official release said on Tuesday.
The corporation constituted an inquiry committee after media reports claimed that expired medicines had been found at Sir D M Petit Hospital, officials said on Tuesday.
The committee, headed by Additional Commissioner Deepak Sawant, conducted an inspection of the hospital's pharmacy and found that medicines were not stored properly and 10 types of drugs had expired. Expired and valid stocks were kept together.
The civic body issued notices to the concerned officials and further action will be taken accordingly, the release said.
Expired medicines were present in stocks used for outpatient services, but they were not distributed to patients, it clarified.
