The government has refuted news reports and social media posts claiming that the booking timelines for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections have been revised to 45 days. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that these reports and posts also claimed that the new timelines were 25 days for single-bottle connections not under the PMUY scheme and 35 days for double-bottle connections not under the PMUY scheme.
The Ministry clarified that no such changes have been made. It added that the existing refill booking timelines remain unchanged and continue to be 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas, regardless of the connection type. The government further emphasized that adequate LPG stocks are available in the country, reassuring the public that there is no need for concern. The government has also advised citizens not to believe or spread such misinformation and to avoid unnecessary or panic booking of LPG refills.
