Jaipur, April 10 Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched 42 women PCR vans from the state police headquarters on Friday to strengthen emergency response for women's safety.

Sharma said the state government is continuously strengthening the women's safety helpline 1090 and equipping the police with modern resources to ensure prompt action in cases of crimes against women.

He said the dedicated PCR vans will operate to provide immediate assistance to women in distress.

Officials said the vehicles will be integrated with the Abhay Command Centre, similar to Dial 112, enabling swift response through real-time coordination.

Each van has been equipped with a mobile data terminal (MDT), GPS, a folding stretcher, and an LED light bar to facilitate effective and quick response to emergencies, they said.

The 1090 helpline assists women in emergency situations such as harassment, exploitation, and violence, officials added.

Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham, Chief Secretary V Srinivas, and Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma were among those present at the event.
