Chandigarh, March 12 The Punjab government is on high alert following rumors about a potential shortage of LPG cylinders due to the ongoing conflict in the Gulf countries, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said on Thursday.

Mann stated that the state government is closely monitoring the situation to ensure that people do not face any difficulties in obtaining essential goods.

He said rumors about an LPG shortage are spreading across the country due to tensions in the Gulf region, causing unnecessary anxiety among the public.

The chief minister said that all deputy commissioners have been instructed to ensure that there is no shortage of essential goods and that people do not face any inconvenience.

He warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found spreading rumors, hoarding essential goods, or attempting to create panic among the public.

Mann also stated that the government will not tolerate black marketing or overcharging of LPG cylinders, and authorities have been asked to maintain strict vigilance in the market.

He added that he has taken up the matter with the Union government to ensure an adequate supply of LPG cylinders so that people do not face any inconvenience.
