On Thursday, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the state government is focusing on reforms in education, as he believes that if quality education is provided, there will be no need for welfare schemes.

He said the government was making changes to the education system with the aim of providing quality education.

While inaugurating the Medicover Hospital in Kokapet, Hyderabad, he announced that a new education system will be introduced from nursery to 12th class from the next academic year.

The Telangana public schools will also be established, providing students with quality breakfast, meals, and transportation. A decision on whether to provide free transportation to students of government schools or a 50% subsidized transportation facility will be made soon, he said.

He also stated that the government has established a Skills University to enhance students' skills.

He also revealed that the state government is compiling health data for 60 lakh women who will soon receive digital health cards.

The Chief Minister stated that the government was already planning to provide life insurance to 1.30 crore families, and that the government had spent Rs 1,800 crore on Aarogyasri and CMRF to provide free medical care to the poorer sections in the state this year.

CM Revanth Reddy said that the state government is also focusing on cancer prevention and has appointed renowned oncologist Dr. Nori Dattatreya as the state advisor.

He expressed concern over the increasing cost of medical care and the difficulties faced by ordinary people in accessing affordable treatment.

In view of the shortage of medical care professionals, the Chief Minister emphasized that doctors working in private hospitals should also render their services in government hospitals for at least one month each year.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the medical profession should not be purely mechanical and should be service-oriented.

He noted that 40% of the country's pharmaceutical products are manufactured in Hyderabad. He said that it is a matter of pride that three coronavirus vaccines were produced in the Hyderabad Genome Valley.
