Sukhu, in a statement issued here, said that the state's health sector will witness improvements within a year, and create new employment opportunities.
The government has rapidly introduced reforms and provided high-end technology in the health sector, Sukhu said, adding that robotic surgery systems and advanced MRI machines are being installed in all medical colleges across the state.
He said that the state government wants to end appointments on an outsourced basis, as it leads to the exploitation of young people.
However, to ensure employment opportunities, along with the regular Staff Nurse, a new post of Assistant Staff Nurse will be created.
Recruitment of nurses in batches is also being carried out, he added.
The Congress leader further said that the government has established an Overseas Recruitment Department to keep a record of people going abroad for employment.
The Nursing Scholar Society organized this workshop in Shimla to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8.
He said that 57.5 per cent of elected representatives in Panchayati Raj institutions in Himachal Pradesh are women, which is a significant achievement for the state.
He said that the daughters of Himachal are continuously progressing and achieving their goals through hard work. He also announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh for the Nursing Scholar Society.
