
Kolkata, March 12 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attended an Iftar event organized by members of the Muslim community in South Kolkata on Thursday, ahead of Eid ul-Fitr.
Banerjee, who is also the chairperson of the Trinamool Congress, joined community members, religious leaders, and party workers at the gathering in the Khidderpore area.
She exchanged greetings with the attendees and wished for peace, harmony, and prosperity.
Such Iftar events are organized across the state during Ramadan, bringing together people from different communities to mark the end of the day-long fast.
The event at Nawab Ali Park was also attended by her cabinet colleague and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim, as well as several local leaders.
