Chennai, March 10 Tata Power Community Development Trust has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Commissionerate for Welfare of the Differently Abled to strengthen the Tamil Nadu 'RIGHTS' program under Tata Power's 'Pay Attention' initiative.
The collaboration is designed to build an integrated ecosystem that strengthens frontline capacity, enhances service delivery through technology-enabled systems, and provides industry-aligned livelihood pathways for persons with disabilities.
Over the next three years, the initiative would focus on structured training, community-based neurodiversity care models, and scalable interventions across districts in Tamil Nadu.
State Commissioner for Welfare of the Differently Abled, M Lakshmi, exchanged documents with Tata Power Chief Sustainability Officer and Tata Power Community Development Trust Chairperson, Himal Tewari, in the presence of senior officials at an event here, a press release said on Tuesday.
"At Tata Power, we believe that inclusion should not be dependent on isolated initiatives, but must be embedded within the systems that shape everyday lives. Through Pay Attention, we have been building structured ecosystems that support awareness, early intervention, skills, and exposure opportunities for neurodiverse individuals," Tewari, who is also the CHRO, said in the release.
The partnership with the Tamil Nadu government under the TN RIGHTS program is an important step towards creating sustainable public frameworks that ensure neurodiverse individuals can thrive with dignity, independence, and opportunity, he added.
Through its flagship 'Pay Attention' initiative, Tata Power Community Development Trust continues to build structured ecosystems that advance dignity, life skills development, and social participation for neurodiverse individuals, creating measurable and sustainable impact across communities, the release added.
