
Guwahati, March 18 Top officials from the Indian Army and the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) held discussions here on Wednesday to enhance operational preparedness across the eastern sector of the country, according to a defence statement.
The meeting focused on aligning mechanisms to ensure rapid response during times of crisis.
Senior officers from the NFR and the Army were present at the event.
The exercise between the Army's Eastern Command and the NFR focused on understanding mutual strengths and optimizing resources, with the primary goal of aligning working mechanisms to ensure rapid and coordinated responses during any national crisis.
"The session brainstormed various contingencies to bolster operational preparedness across the sensitive eastern sector," the statement said.
Emphasis was placed on developing dual-use infrastructure, a strategic move designed to enhance logistics while ensuring substantial expenditure savings for the government.
"The collaborative framework ensures that both the military and railways can seamlessly integrate their efforts, providing a unified and efficient front during times of criticality," it added.
