
New Delhi, April 7 India remains committed to supporting St. Kitts and Nevis in combating the challenges of climate change, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Tuesday.
Jaishankar made the remarks while inaugurating the Caribbean nation's new resident mission in New Delhi alongside Denzil L Douglas, the Foreign Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis.
India will support St. Kitts and Nevis in addressing the challenges of climate change through capacity building, technology transfer and collaboration in renewable energy and disaster resilience, he said.
Jaishankar said he was confident that the new resident mission would lead to the deepening of partnership between the two sides.
Ahead of the inauguration of the mission, Jaishankar hosted Douglas for extensive talks focusing on ways to expand the overall trajectory of the bilateral ties.
"Delighted to host Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry, Commerce & Consumer Affairs, Economic Development & Investment of St. Kitts & Nevis today," the external affairs minister said on social media.
"Discussed development projects, health cooperation, digital capacities and disaster response. Appreciated the exchange on regional and global issues," he said.
