New Delhi, April 10 Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Friday emphasized the need for stronger coordination in combating drug-related terrorism, stating that it is a core issue in security, as well as economic and governance challenges.

Addressing the 'International Conference on Countering Narco-Terrorism', he said that drug-related terrorism is no longer a distant threat.

"It is at the core of today's security, economic, and governance challenges. The global narcotics trade fuels organized crime, money laundering, and terror financing," he said in a post on X.

Sandhu emphasized the need for stronger coordination, smarter use of technology, and a balanced approach that focuses on both prevention and enforcement.

He described the conference, attended by experts from strategic, law enforcement, diplomatic, and academic communities, as a vital platform for converting dialogue into action and driving a more coordinated global response against drug-related terrorism.
