Combine Harvester Toll Exemptions Approved in Madhya Pradesh.webp

Bhopal, April 1 Combine harvesters used for agricultural purposes will now be exempt from toll payments at plazas operated by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) as part of the state's commitment to farmer welfare, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Wednesday.

Numerous decisions are being taken in the interest of farmers to realize the vision of "Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous State" in the Farmer Welfare Year 2026. As part of farmer-friendly initiatives, combine harvesters used for agricultural purposes will now be exempt from toll charges at MPRDC plazas, he said.

The decision will reduce the transportation cost of these machines, which will have a positive impact on the prices of agricultural produce and benefit farmers, Yadav stated.

A tractor-mounted combine harvester is a multifunctional agricultural machine that combines three essential tasks – harvesting, threshing, and winnowing – into one process.

The chief minister issued instructions on toll relief for these heavy machines at a meeting of MPRDC's Board of Directors. State Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh and senior officials attended the meeting held at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister's residence).

Yadav, while chairing the board meeting, also approved the construction of the Indore-Ujjain Green Field Road and the Ujjain-Javar Green Field Road.

The Board of Directors also approved the revised alignment of the West Bhopal Bypass and granted in-principle approval for its construction, an official said.
