Commercial Rights RFP Launched for ISL, Federation Cup, and IWL

Commercial Rights RFP Launched for ISL, Federation Cup, and IWL.webp

New Delhi, March 27 – The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Friday opened bids for the Request for Proposal (RFP) for commercial rights related to competitions and properties owned by the AIFF. Bids were submitted for the Indian Super League (ISL), the Federation Cup (formerly known as the Super Cup), the Indian Women's League (IWL), and the IWL 2.

Three organizations submitted bids: FanCode and Genius Sports submitted bids for the commercial rights related to the Indian Super League and the Federation Cup (or Super Cup). Capri Sports submitted bids for the commercial rights of the Indian Women's League and the Indian Women's League 2.

The bids are for a 15-year term with an option for an additional five-year extension, giving the bidder the first right of refusal. The proposal also includes a 5% annual increase in value throughout the duration of the agreement.

The bid evaluation report will be presented to the AIFF Executive Committee, which will hold its meeting on Sunday, March 29, 2026. A decision is expected on that day.

The Indian Super League (ISL) and the Indian Football League are currently being played at various centres across the country. Matches will be broadcast live on DD Sports and Sony Sports Network, and streamed on Waves and Sony LIV.

The bids are being called for following the AIFF's long-term deal with Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), a Reliance-owned company, for commercial rights to the Indian Super League (ISL). The commercial rights to Indian football were sold to IMG-Reliance in 2010.

The Master Right Agreement (MRA), signed in 2010, ensures that the AIFF receives ₹50 crore annually from FSDL. This agreement expired on December 8, and both the AIFF and FSDL were unable to reach an agreement to extend it, which caused a delay in the start of the Indian Super League. The 2025-26 season began last month following a Supreme Court order.
