March 08, Anantnag: The Indian Army organized several Iftar gatherings across the Anantnag district of South Kashmir as part of its civic outreach program during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative aimed to promote communal harmony and strengthen ties with local communities.

The main Iftar gathering was organized by 1 Sector Rashtriya Rifles at Khanabal in Anantnag. Senior officials from the civil administration and security forces attended, providing a platform for coordination and community interaction.

Among the prominent attendees were Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Javid Iqbal Matoo, DIG of Central Reserve Police Force, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din, SSP Anantnag, SSP Kulgam, and other senior Army officers. Local residents also participated in the gathering in large numbers.

Another Iftar party was organized by 19 Rashtriya Rifles at Kokernag in Anantnag district. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, community elders, and officials, reflecting strong civil-security cooperation in the area.

The gatherings provided opportunities for interaction between security forces and civilians, helping to build mutual trust, promote goodwill, and reinforce bonds with the local population.

Local residents appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing the Iftar gatherings and fostering a spirit of unity, harmony, and brotherhood during the holy month of Ramadan.
