Young people in Golaghat set an example in their cleanliness campaign.
Golaghat, February 26: A 30-member volunteer group from Melamora village in Golaghat district has been recognized as a model of community-led sanitation over the past six years.
Every morning, members of the group go out with brooms to clean village roads, public spaces, and social institutions. Their consistent efforts aim to not only make their village clean but also ensure that every locality is free from plastic waste.
In addition to maintaining cleanliness in their own village, the team has also organized sanitation drives at various institutions and public programs across the district. Their dedication has been praised by the Chief Minister of Assam as well as the Union Minister.
As a result of their efforts, the areas covered by the group remain remarkably clean, inspiring many other communities to follow their example.
