
New Delhi, March 11 Top Congress leaders discussed potential candidates for the upcoming Kerala assembly elections at a meeting of the party's central election committee held at the party's Akbar Road office here on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and was attended by former party chief Rahul Gandhi and AICC General Secretary, Organisation, K C Venugopal, among others.
Senior party leaders and members of the Congress' Central Election Committee, including Ambika Soni, Madhusudan Mistry, Salman Khurshid, K J George, T S Singhdeo, Mohammad Jawed and Amee Yajnik, were present at the meeting.
AICC in-charge for Kerala Deepa Dasmunshi and other AICC Secretaries Abhishek Dutt and Neeraj Dangi were also present.
Assembly elections in Kerala are scheduled for April, and the Congress is aiming to regain power in the southern state from the Left, after being out of power for the last decade.
