Ranchi, March 21 Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Jharkhand on March 31 to attend the concluding ceremony of a training camp for newly elected district chiefs of the party, a functionary said on Saturday.

A 10-day training camp for newly elected district presidents in Jharkhand and Odisha is being organized from March 22 in the West Singhbhum district.

Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh said, "Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will attend the concluding ceremony of the training camp on March 31."

Addressing reporters at the party's state headquarters here, he said the training camp is being held to ensure that the newly appointed district presidents are well-versed in the intricacies of organizational functioning.

"Thirty-five district presidents from Odisha and 25 from Jharkhand will participate in the training camp. The Congress' Odisha in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu, state president Bhakta Charan Das and Jharkhand Congress in-charge K Raju will also attend the event," Kamlesh said.

He added that the district presidents would also undertake a two-day field visit, touring the entire region and engaging in dialogue with the public.
