
Chaibasa (Jharkhand), March 22 The Congress launched a 10-day training camp for newly elected district presidents in Jharkhand and Odisha on Sunday, aiming to strengthen the organization in both states, according to a party official.
The camp is being organized under the guidance of AICC training in-charge Sachin Rao at the Tribal Research Training Centre in Chaibasa, in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
Twenty-five district presidents from Jharkhand and 27 from Odisha participated in the training camp on Sunday.
AICC Secretary and Jharkhand Congress co-incharge Sirivella Prasad, Odisha in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu, Jharkhand unit president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, Odisha Legislature Party Leader Ramchandra Kadam, and others attended the event.
The training camp is being organized to ensure that the newly appointed district presidents are well-versed in the intricacies of organizational functioning, Kamlesh said.
He added that the district presidents would also undertake a two-day field visit, touring the entire region and engaging in dialogue with the public.
"There is a fundamental alignment between the objectives and spirit of the Constitution and the politics of the Congress party. Guided by this principle, the Congress works for the common people. With this message, the Congress must reach out to the people," he said.
The Congress is part of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand and an opposition party in Odisha.
