The government has extended the National PNG Drive 2.0 until June 30, 2026, to maintain momentum in PNG expansion across the country. It has also directed city gas distribution entities to expedite the installation of domestic PNG connections. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that during March, more than 3.1 lakh connections, including domestic, commercial, hostel, mess, and canteen, have been converted to PNG. In addition, more than 2.7 lakh new connections are being converted to PNG. The Ministry also informed that an average of over 50 lakh domestic LPG cylinders have been delivered daily since March 1. It also stated that over 3.2 lakh 5 kg FTL cylinders have been sold to migrant laborers since the 23rd of this month.

The government further assured that the country has sufficient stocks of petrol, diesel, LPG, and PNG. To counter rumors, it has urged states and union territories to disseminate accurate information through press briefings.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways stated that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe; no incidents involving Indian-flagged vessels have been reported in the past 24 hours. It is informed that the DG Shipping has facilitated the safe repatriation of over 959 Indian seafarers, including 9 in the last 24 hours. The Ministry said that port operations across India are normal and no congestion has been reported.

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that over 5.72 lakh passengers have returned to the country since February 28. The Missions and Posts across the region are functioning 24 hours a day, operating 24x7 helplines and maintaining regular contact with the Indian community, associations, organizations, and companies.
