Gangtok, March 24 The Sikkim government carried out the disposal of seized contraband substances in the Namchi district on Tuesday, officials said.
The District Level Drug Disposal Committee conducted the exercise using an incinerator facility, ensuring adherence to prescribed safety, environmental, and legal protocols.
The disposed drugs included 240 grams of brown sugar and 1,040 bottles of cough syrup seized during various operations conducted between 2018 and 2025, according to an official release.
The exercise was conducted at the District Hospital in Namchi.
