Controversy Surrounds Badshah's 'Titiri' Song.webp

Mumbai, March 6 – Rapper Badshah, known for songs like ‘Jugnu’ and ‘Saturday Saturday’, has received a notice from the Haryana State Women's Commission. The notice was issued regarding his new, controversial song, ‘Titiri’.

The Haryana State Women's Commission has summoned Badshah and requested him to appear before the commission on March 13 to record his statement. Badshah's Haryanvi folk song 'Titiri' has sparked controversy.

The notice was issued based on a complaint filed by Savita Arya, president of Nari Tu Narayani Sanstha, Panipat, and Shiv Kumar, head of Shiv Aarti Foundation. The complaint raises objections to the lyrics in Badshah's song, specifically, "Aaya Badshah doli chaddhane, in sabki ghodi banane".

The complaint alleges that the song uses vulgar language and depicts young girls in school uniforms boarding a Haryana Roadways bus and throwing their school bags. This song has also drawn criticism from a Khap (a traditional social organization) in Haryana.

Badshah has faced several legal controversies and investigations over the years, although many have not resulted in convictions. In 2020, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch questioned him in connection with a probe into fake social media engagement, investigating companies that sold fake followers and views to celebrities. Reports claimed that he had paid around INR 72 lakhs to boost views for his song ‘Paagal’, although he denied any wrongdoing.

In 2023, he was summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Police in connection with the illegal streaming of IPL matches on the FairPlay app. He cooperated with investigators and appeared as a witness, rather than an accused.

In 2025, a case was registered in Punjab alleging that the lyrics in his song ‘Velvet Flow’ were offensive to Christian religious sentiments.

Additionally, he has faced minor legal issues, such as a traffic violation fine in Gurugram after a convoy vehicle drove on the wrong side of the road.
