New Delhi, April 6 Copper futures rose by Rs 8.80 to Rs 1,179.85 per kg on Monday due to increased spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for May delivery increased by Rs 8.80, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 1,179.85 per kilogram in a trading volume of 397 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to increased speculation by market participants.
