Fake currency worth ₹10 lakh seized in Guwahati; one person arrested.

Guwahati, February 26: The Guwahati Police seized counterfeit currency notes worth ₹10 lakh from under the Ulubari flyover and apprehended one person in connection with the case.

According to police sources, the counterfeit notes, bundled in ₹500 denominations, were allegedly being transported for delivery to an unidentified individual. The accused, identified as Asib Alam, was taken into custody at the scene.

Police suspect that the fake currency was intended for circulation in the market. The seized notes have been sent for examination, and further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in the operation.
