March 31, Kohima: The Principal District & Sessions Court in Kohima on Monday sentenced a 44-year-old man to six months of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of sexual harassment under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The court also imposed a fine of 10,000 rupees, with an additional two months of simple imprisonment in case of non-payment.
The court observed that the offense committed by David Swunetho was serious and affected the dignity of a woman. The court also considered mitigating factors before awarding the sentence.
