
Ranchi, March 14 The Jharkhand unit of the CPI will celebrate the party's centenary on Sunday in Ranchi, a party leader said.
CPI national general secretary D Raja and former West Bengal minister Shivkumar Mukherjee will attend the state-level celebration, he said.
"The Communist Party of India was formed on December 26, 1925, in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Celebrations are being held at various levels, from village to panchayat and block levels. We had fixed February 22 for a state-level programme, but it was postponed due to local body elections in Jharkhand," CPI state secretary Mahendra Pathak told reporters here.
He said thousands of party workers would participate in the celebration to be held at an auditorium in Ranchi's Atal Vendor market.
