Navi Mumbai, March 3 Priyansh Arya shone brightly on the final day of the group stage of the 20th DY Patil T20 Cup, smashing an unbeaten 101 off just 41 balls to lead DY Patil Red to a convincing eight-wicket victory over CGST at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Arya was in excellent form, hitting eight boundaries and nine sixes as he reached his century off just 40 balls. Arya's superb performance helped DY Patil Red win in just 12.1 overs, chasing down CGST's 149 for five to finish on 150 for two.
Arya's effort set up a quarterfinal clash against DTDC on Wednesday afternoon. Krunal Pandya, captain of DY Patil Red, also impressed with the ball, taking two wickets for 22, while left-arm seamer Naman Tiwari (2-27) and Prince Badiani (0-19) also bowled tightly on Monday night.
On Monday evening, DTDC beat CGST by 37 runs despite a strong all-round performance by Sanvir Singh (2-35 & 71).
Earlier, Vidarbha batter Danish Malewar's fluent 64 off 42 balls led Reliance to a nail-biting one-run victory over Bank of Baroda. Malewar, who will play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, struck nine fours in his brisk half-century as Reliance posted a competitive 197/6 in their 20 overs. Ajay Ahlawat was the pick of the Bank of Baroda bowlers, returning figures of 2-31 to keep Reliance in check during the middle overs, though it proved insufficient to prevent the eventual defeat.
