Mumbai, March 31 The Canada Super 60 League cricket tournament is set to return for its second season later this year, with Brampton Blitz aiming to defend their title after a dominant performance in the men's section last season, while Toronto Sixers will look to build on their strong showing in the women's category.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from September 29 to October 4 at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. The T10 league will bring together international stars and emerging local talent.
League partner and iconic Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh said that the cricketing world was taking notice of the tournament in a big way.
"After the success of last year's inaugural season, I am delighted to share that Canada Super 60 is returning for Season 2. The response from fans, players, and the global cricket community was incredibly encouraging, and it was clear that the world took notice of what we are building here," he said.
Several players from the Canadian national team that participated in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, have honed their skills by playing in the league.
President of Cricket Canada, Amjad Bajwa, said, "Canada Super 60 represents a major step forward for the growth and development of cricket in Canada and across North America. The success of the first season demonstrated the sport's growing popularity in this region and the immense potential here."
