March 10, New Delhi — India is supplying approximately 5,000 metric tonnes of diesel to Bangladesh through the Bangladesh-India Friendship Pipeline.
Fuel pumping began on Tuesday from Assam, with the diesel expected to reach Dinajpur in Bangladesh by Wednesday evening.
The cross-border pipeline ensures faster, safer, and more cost-effective fuel transport, replacing the previous system of delivery by rail wagons. Officials noted that the supply comes at a crucial time, strengthening energy cooperation between the two nations amid global oil market volatility.
