The Counter Intelligence wing of the Punjab Police, working in close coordination with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Gujarat, has successfully dismantled a terror module backed by the ISI, operated by Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs). This was achieved by arresting one of the key operatives out of three, along with hand grenades and a sophisticated pistol. All three accused were from the border districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran.
Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav stated that the two grenades seized bear the markings of the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF), which clearly indicates the cross-border links of the module. The DGP also stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that the module was systematically targeting police establishments across multiple states, which has now been successfully prevented. Efforts are ongoing to identify, track, and apprehend other members of the module.
