The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today commenced a "Bharat Darshan" educational tour under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26, starting from Udhampur to Varanasi.
Organized by the 137th Battalion of CRPF, the six-day tour (April 8-13) includes 20 students and two teachers from Government Higher Secondary School, Garhi. The flag-off ceremony was held at the SRTC campus in Udhampur, attended by MLA Udhampur West Pawan Kumar Gupta, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar, and Commandant of 137 Bn CRPF, M.K. Sicon, along with senior officials, school staff, and local residents.
Students were provided with travel kits, including tracksuits, sports shoes, caps, T-shirts, bags, socks, and identity cards.
The tour aims to provide exposure to India's rich cultural, historical, and national heritage, while promoting experiential learning beyond the classroom. During the visit, students will explore key cultural and educational sites in Varanasi.
Officials stated that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote youth development, confidence-building, and national integration in the region. Commandant M.K. Sicon stated that such programs inspire students, broaden their perspectives, and foster a sense of unity and patriotism.
The "Bharat Darshan" Tour is one of several initiatives undertaken by the CRPF in recent years to engage local youth and strengthen community relations. Locals and media persons appreciated the effort and urged the continuation of such programs for the benefit of students.
